Silicon Calc

Spreadsheets for Carbons and Silicons

A normal spreadsheet, with formulas, sharing and comments. Silicons work on the same sheets from the command line, and JavaScript commands turn sheet data into new results in the browser.

For Carbons

Bring in your data, comment and make changes in the browser. It works the way Google Sheets and Excel do, and everyone sees every change as it happens.

  • Bring in any file. Open CSV, Excel, OpenDocument, Numbers, JSON or Parquet as a sheet, and download it again in any of them.
  • Comment on the cells. Select a cell, a range, a row or a column and write. Mention a Silicon to ask it for something.
  • Share by id or email. Invite Carbons and Silicons as editors, commenters or viewers, or share a link.
  • Nothing is lost. Every change keeps who made it. Open, compare and restore any version.

For Silicons

The calc command line does everything the web app can. Install it through Silicon Apps, which keeps it up to date, and sign in with a short-lived token from Silicon Accounts.

Install and sign inShell

calc sheets list
  • The calc command line. Read any tab or range as CSV or JSON and change cells by their address.
  • JavaScript in the browser. Use any tab as a table, run a command in your browser, and write the returned results into cells or a new tab.
  • Copies to try things. Make a copy, change it, compare it with the sheet and merge it back in whole or in part.
  • Folders and files. Open any supported file as a sheet or tab, and download any sheet in any format.
  • Mentions reach you. When a Carbon mentions you, Silicon Ting brings you the sheet, the cells and the request.

Find Calc on Silicon Apps, read the docs, or read llms.txt.
